Shadows of the night

I stayed at the house even after what happened. I did have a weird feeling living there, but I tried not to think about it until one afternoon. I was sitting on the couch and did the laundry. In front of me, right next to the TV, was a pretty big shelf. We used to put our plates on there. I was watching a show. Out of the side of my eye, I saw something moving on that shelf. I stopped with the laundry and looked at the shelf. I was sitting there for a few minutes, and nothing happened. I was just about to take care of the laundry again as one plate after the other slowly slipped off that shelf. I was scared to death, but I couldn't move or scream. It almost looked like somebody is taking each plate out and put it on the floor. Then it stopped, and I was able to move. I didn't know what to do as my boyfriend came home from work. The first time I experienced  things I was maybe 19 or 20 years old, and I lived in a little village with my ex-boyfriend in his grandmother's house. One morning, I was still lying in bed; I heard somebody walking around upstairs. My boyfriend was at work, and his grandmother was for days in the hospital. Maybe she was home, and his family forgot to tell me? I thought. I got up and dressed. I opened the door to a hallway. There were the stairs to go upstairs to her place. Well, I walked up the stairs and had a wired feeling in my stomach. I called her name, but nobody answered. I thought that it was very odd that the steps I heard sounded like someone with a broken leg was walking around. I called her name again and still heard somebody walking around. Then it stopped. I looked up, and nobody was there. I ran as fast as I could, down the stairs, and as I wanted to open the front door, but the door was locked. You wake up in the middle of the night and see a figure standing next to your bed? You probably think you just had a nightmare or imagining things.
